Global Chamber® Accra and Mumbai Get Together on Food

Global Chamber® Accra held our monthly meetup, typically on the last Tuesday of each month, opening doors for new business opportunities and collaboration. This time we recognized Ghana & India Celebrations ... including March 6th as Independence Day of Ghana, formerly called the Gold Coast of the Southern Sahara region of Africa. And India celebrates one of the most significant festivals of colors known as Holi, held during the spring season in India. Join us in celebrating the rich cuisine of both nations.

Being separated by the continent and an ocean, we do find some similarities in their food culture and flavors.

Jollof Rice to Ghana is what Biryani is to India. Both are flavorful and have a lot of vegetables, meat and spices.

Waayke of Ghana is very similar to Masala Khichadi in India – both are humble dishes made of rice and lentils and can be prepared without hustle.

The deserts that are very similar are the peanut brittle of Ghana and the peanut chikki from India. Also, the coconut halva is almost the same!

Let’s enjoy each recipe from both countries and we can help local Ghanaian food industry players to produce their ready to eat meals using our facility in India. In the recorded session at the link above, each ingredient is explored, with possible business collaborations.
