Suddenly Salt Lake City is lining up to be the next Silicon Valley for tech. Seriously.
One indication is that StartSLC - focused on helping tech companies in Utah - came together in about 30 days to attract a huge crowd of techies, entrepreneurs, executives, investors and more. How did StartSLC attract such a huge crowd with pretty much no prior attention by anybody? Impressive.
And it was global. As I was driving over to the event, I saw on twitter a picture of a couple guys there involved with tech in Finland. Then as I approached one of the venues at Gateway there they were! Quite a coincidence considering 10 different venues across the Gateway. Utah tech is going global.
We were pleased to get a slot in the StartSLC program to discuss how Utah tech companies can grow their business globally. Tech entrepreneurs can connect to resources at the Global Chamber and others including the U.S. Commercial Service. All of our materials including collateral from the US Commercial Service were snapped up - should have made more copies!

To the organizers and attendees of StartSLC - Congratulations!
To those who didn't attend - you missed quite an event!
To other states... ignore Utah's tech ecosystem at your peril.
The Silicon Slopes are here and supporting the global growth of Utah.
