It Takes a Village to Grow Globally

It takes a village to grow globally. It really does.

Over the years we've had hundreds of speakers, and the majority of those have been executives who have a familiar refrain...

- "Why did I wait 10 years to go global and export?", and...

- "If I knew then what I know now, we'd have done in 5 years what took 15 years."

All of us who are part of the international business tribe can relate to these frustrations. We've had similar experiences! We all attended the same school of cross border hard knocks, and we all can benefit from staying engaged with the latest tricks of the trade.

That's why we've created the Global Chamber... so that our tribe can be more effective, and hopefully we can pull a few more folks into global trade!

The possibilities are endless, and those of us involved know it's plenty of fun!

Don't wait! The opportunity is NOW. For US companies August, 2014 set an all-time record for exporting... $195 billion. If you're reading this, you get it - yet still less than 1% of US companies export. As a country the US has gone from 5% of GDP being exports in the 1950's to 14% today. But many other countries far out perform the U.S. by this measure.

Engage! The biggest challenge I've found is what our speakers have said over and over... that company leaders are either not getting engaged with global business, or they are not doing it very well. By the latter I mean that there are plenty of moving parts and global business is not like falling out bed - it takes perseverance, cleverness and flexibility - and staying engaged with resources that are doing it every day helps invaluably.

Don't wait! Engage with the global business tribe, and then stay engaged!
