We held a globinar "Managing Business Referrals through Warm Introductions" with the intent of sharing with members how to optimize new business results as a member of Global Chamber®.
This year we've made significant progress including improved processes to provide warm introductions for members to clients, employees, partners, resources and investors. It's been amazing! So we wanted to share the latest tips in order for more members to be up to speed.
Hopefully this helps members, prospective members and joining members to ramp up faster and to gain higher ROI - return on investment.
Below are some notes, and for a deeper dive, watch the full, one-hour globinar HERE.
Thank you Dave Plunkett of Collaboration Junkie (more) for providing a keynote presentation on gaining referrals. It was an excellent summary as you'll see in the video. Dave a global expert on business referrals, and he has operationalized it perfectly.
In the globinar, first I shared the basis for warm introductions and how they help members grow.
Part One - Why Global Chamber®? (Doug)
Global Chamber® was founded to address several needs for companies growing globally, and to answer key questions that couldn't be answered satisfactorily before.
-
Which chamber to join if you do business across cities and borders? Most metro regions have dozens of chambers of commerce, and so which one do you choose if you're open to clients from a broader region, or even globally? Now you have an answer, Global Chamber®. Hear more.
-
Where can all businesses gather - multinationals, regional firms, unicorns, startups... to grow globally? When I worked for multinationals, I almost wasn't allowed, and certainly not encouraged, to interact in the local community. Global Chamber® is an answer - bringing all together.
-
Where can leaders be surrounded by a diverse group of leaders - women, people of color, different religious and cultural backgrounds? With everyone at the table, and welcomed at the table? With everyone's voice heard? Equity and inclusion valued? Again Global Chamber®. More.
-
Where can members expect the chamber leaders to be proactive about their growth, driven by ROI, and surrounded by members who care? Posting a logo at a luncheon isn't enough for today's world - we all need practical, tactical assistance to grow. Again that's us, Global Chamber®.
-
Where can leaders go to be surrounded by other leaders and professionals who are honest, ethical, truth-seeking, positive, growth-oriented, enlightened, respectful, transparent, vetted, trusted and supportive? Get the help you need with lower risk at Global Chamber®.
Oh, and Global Is Good!
Benefit from warm introductions coming through our global network in 525 metros around the world of highly connected leaders. Every day we're adding more and more people to the global tribe - and they're being vetted. So that when we ask 'who do you want to meet next?' - let us know specifically, and then we use AI and our team to find the best fit. We introduce members to someone who is in the target... trusted, and will almost certainly respond.
Every month we get better as our database of millions grows, and our processes improve.
Our vision is to make business across metros and borders as easy as doing business across the street.
Part Two - Tips to Optimize Your Results at Global Chamber® (Cesar)
Cesar Trabanco shared practical advice for members throughout each year of membership. He covered the regular onboarding of members, the renewal process and our recommendations like...
- Have an onboarding call with HQ/regional lead to plan for a year ahead.
- Plan to join one of our League events at least every quarter.
- Navigate through some (not all) of the multiple local and regional meet ups.
- Gain warm intros at the beginning and along the way - and provide feedback.
- Join our communities on LinkedIn - group, company page, chapter pages.
- Read the Newsletter every Monday and review member news, events.
- Schedule a half a year catch up call with HQ and the chapter leader.
- Add others from your team along the way... spread the global love.
We've had members join and not interact including provide feedback along the way. We ask for both!
These days we've gotten really good at warm introductions, and they're timely. There are 8 times a member my received warm introductions to help them.
- As a prospect, we see that one of our members can benefit right now.
- Onboarding - who do you want to meet? We make connections at the start.
- Feedback on the first wave, or any time. Let us know what worked or didn't work.
- Shared in a LoE (League of Extraordinaries), LoO, event, meetup or globinar.
- Members has a need right now - calls or sends an email. We're on it!
- Another member has a need - and we connect two members.
- We'll do a random check-in - how are you doing? Anything you need?
- At renewal time - how is it going, how can we help? More help.
Part Three - The Magnificent Dave Plunkett of Collaboration Junkie
Dave shared practical tips on how to get more business referrals. You've just gotta listen to this - he's so experienced and good at it!
Three key points that everyone can improve on.
- Ask for a Referral
- Make It Easy for Them
- Keep Your Referrers in the Loop / Feedback
Read more HERE on Dave's blog, and definitely listen to Dave's part of the globinar here.
Please, let us help!
