Lukas Deutscher, Executive Director

Lukas Deutscher is someone who is always helpful, courteous and super connected. He always tries to get the best out of his network. Together with his team, specializes in building websites for the self-employed who really sell. Lukas is now our Executive Director in Zurich, looking to connect local companies with global opportunities.

John Cook, Chairman

Rock Lake Advisors GmbH

John Cook is Chairman of Rock Lake Advisors, which he founded in 2009 following a successful career in international business & financial services. He hails from Chicago/Milwaukee, and has spent the past 40 years living in Europe. His prior corporate positions included Director and Partner, WJ Hopper & Co Ltd (London); Abteilungsdirektor and Head of Global Equity Origination, Security Pacific Merchant Bank / Bank America (Frankfurt); Senior Account Executive, Merrill Lynch International (Brussels); Managing Director, Univestors Family Office (Brussels); and Associate Marketing Director Middle East, International Harvester (Brussels).

John serves on the board of directors and advisory boards of several companies and organizations including Kyron Capital Limited, Wishpoint Inc. (Scandid, Travelx), YFret Technologies and Viamagus Technologies. John is a member / supporter of the Swiss Private Equity and Corporate Finance Association (SECA); Horasis Global Visions Community; InvestEurope; the Swiss American Chamber of Commerce; Purdue University; and Thunderbird School of Global Management.

John is Chairman Emeritus of the Thunderbird Global Private Equity Center, a thought leadership platform he founded at Thunderbird School of Global Management in 2004. He was awarded the distinguished Jonas Mayer Award, chaired the Thunderbird European Alumni Association and is a long-standing member of the Thunderbird Leadership Councils. John advises the Dean’s private equity council at the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.

In 1982 John launched the famous Thunderbird European Reunions and has organized 45 global alumni reunions across 25+ countries. For the past 35 years John has resided in Seattle, Chicago, New York, London, Brussels, Frankfurt and Zurich. He graduated cum-laude with a BSIM from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University (1974), completed the pre-med curriculum at University of Washington (1977), obtained an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management (1979), and has completed advanced management studies at Oxford University, England.

John’s passions include global travel, cross-cultural networking, geopolitics and world affairs, swimming and motorcycling. John has been married for 35 years and has a daughter based in Washington DC.

Renée MEYER, Principal

Renée Meyer Consulting

Renée Meyer is an American and Swiss citizen, having grown-up in Ohio, and currently living in Strasbourg France. Renée is a polyglot (English, French, German, Spanish) Thunderbird graduate.

Renée works independently as an intercultural mediator, combining her skills in intercultural communication, sustainability and finance. Her current activities are linking the French (mainly the Grand Est region) and the U.S. (mainly Midwest) markets. She concentrates on creating the bridge between actors in different cultures, so that the client can focus on adapting their product or service offering to the export market. With over 15 years of experience in the Swiss pharmaceutical industry, she is specialized in the medtech area.

Co-Moderator: Doug Bruhnke - Founder/CEO of Global Chamber®. Doug is a global entrepreneur dedicated to helping members of Global Chamber® successfully reach new markets across 525 metros - everywhere! He is a two-time ex-pat with Dupont in Tokyo and Singapore with 35 years of global business experience in nearly all countries and segments. Doug is a regional advisor for the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and a member of the Arizona District Export Council. He has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Utah and an EMBA from Michigan State University and is co-inventor on 5 patents. Doug was born in Mount Kisco, New York, and is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Palo Alto, California.
