Globinar on FDI in Africa : Seizing the Opportunities

By Doug Bruhnke · Global Chamber

Global Chamber® is doing regular globinars from across Africa, including monthly cross-Africa meetups, and a recent conversation on foreign direct Investment (FDI) opportunities in Africa featuring Courtney Fingar and other FDI and Africa experts.

International interest in investing in Africa is gathering momentum, spurred by the continent's vast untapped potential in sectors such as agribusiness and renewable energy, combined with drives by national governments to boost manufacturing and technology.

Africa's future as a destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) is being rewritten and African countries are seeking to position themselves in the fast-changing global value chains.

The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is set to improve intra-regional connectivity and open up new trade and investment opportunities.

How are investors currently viewing Africa? Where do they see most potential, and what are the remaining barriers? How are local players maximising Africa's moment in the FDI spotlight?

We brought together international and African business leaders to answer these questions.

Watch the Africa FDI conversation HERE.

And two more recent meetups from around Africa may be viewed HERE and HERE.
