One of the event's key take-aways was the clear transition by the U.S. government to an emphasis on 'fair' trade versus 'free' trade.
The number of trade agreements around the world have increased from about 50 in 1990 to about 300 today. In addition to more agreements, they are 'deeper' - including many more issues than just tariffs and simpler, issues... and more deeply on labor issues and more.
