More Simple Hiring and Growing Your Team Globally

By Emily Reynolds · Global Expansion

Globalization is transforming the world of work, prompting companies to search globally for the talent they need to be successful. Global hiring is complex, but that doesn’t need to stop you from exploring that route when it makes sense for your business.

There’s a solution – a Global Employer of Record, or EOR. As you search for that best partner, know that not all EORs are created equal, and you need to find an offering that aligns with your goals, your organization, your growth strategy... and has all the features you need. Here are some thought-starting examples.

Acquiring contractors

Global Expansion (GX) helped one of the largest, US-based beverage manufacturers through a large acquisition that brought them new contractors throughout the Caribbean. Instead of trying to setup 10 different entities in 10 different countries to hire these individuals directly, their global Tax provider recommended they work with GX to bring these contractors on as employees to grow their footprint and provide these individuals with local support and all the great benefits of bringing on employees in these regions. It was the easier, more cost efficient and compliant way to bring on these new team members, and only took 1 month to fully implement.

Immigration

The GX team supported a Netherlands-based IT company that needed to hire an Indian National employee in the UK who needed sponsorship. This company did not have an entity in the UK to sponsor and employ this individual, so GX managed that entire process for them. After securing the proper visa, we hired this individual for the client with the entire process taking under 1 month.

For profit and nonprofits alike

A 10,000 person US-based nonprofit went to RFP looking for a new global employer of record partner to support their global population. They were unhappy with the lack of support and guidance they were receiving from a current vendor, and their employees were needing hand-holding and local support in the different countries they were located in around the world. Up against 5 other EORs, this nonprofit transitioned from 3 EOR providers to 1 – Global Expansion... ‘because we were so impressed by not only the depth of expertise and knowledge in these areas, but also the commitment and dedication to customer service for both the corporate client and for the employee experience. We also think Global Expansion and our team align well in our objectives and our organizational values and we are so excited to continue down this path with the team!’ GX is supporting 50 employees for this nonprofit in 7 different countries, while also providing the team a single, global benefits plan that extends into all countries, driving that consistency they were eager to find.

Extended HR team for defense contractors

Global Expansion is supporting a US-based defense and intelligence, government contractor and their global team based in Germany and the UK. They were using multiple providers previously, and not only were the digital platforms not very easy to use or intuitive, but the actual human-to-human support and interaction was almost non-existent. They switched to GX for consistency and a hand-holding approach that made them feel like that had an extension of their HR team in both countries. We’ve quoted out a range of support for active bids they have going in the Middle East and will continue to provide that high-level of support in new regions they secure business in. Having GX in their back pocket allows them to pivot quickly and take on new pieces of work wherever they choose.

Your ideal partners for global talent including EOR services should handle global employment compliance, HR, payroll, benefits, taxes and immigration. You should have dedicated point of contacts, both for you and your global employees, and be able to get the advisement you need, when you need it. With Global Expansion, you may grow your business with a little more confidence as you focus on what you do best, while GX handles the rest.
