William 'Doc' Jones is an extraordinary jazz musician in New Orleans, Phoenix and globally... and we're pleased to support his efforts to get jazz further advanced to young people and around the world.
It was Doc's birthday this week, and we had a chance to demonstrate another 'warm introduction' for a young musician visiting from Venezuela on his first day in the United States.
He's seen behind the great Carlos Rivas, playing bass guitar... welcome to America, young man!
Jean Carlos Salas is the nephew of Rigo Duran, our Global Advisor in Venezuela. And so when both of them visited our headquarters recently, we asked questions about what the new arrival is looking to do.
Jazz it was... and jazz he got.
I called Doc Jones, who picked up the phone... cool... and reminded me that his birthday was coming up in a few days... an evening of music. Doc was up to have this musician from Venezuela play with the band, sight unseen and sound unheard... and it came to pass.
UPDATE: As of July 15th... Jean Carlos Salas has been engaged in 5 musical projects related to that one intro.
Opportunities abound everywhere... and they are furthered through our broad network, and warm introductions.
