Our session featured Ricardo Vanella, Executive Director of Global Chamber® Argentina, who led the discussion “The Argentina Stack: RIGI, AI and the New U.S.–Argentina Investment Corridor.”
Global Chamber® members and guests gathered for the weekly FDI / Investment Forum, this time exploring one of Latin America’s most closely watched investment stories: Argentina.
Ricardo offered an in-depth look at how Argentina is re-entering the global investment map — not simply as a market with potential, but as a country beginning to build a new investment architecture around legal stability, fiscal incentives, strategic resources, technology, infrastructure, and geopolitical alignment.
Ricardo shared both historical and current perspectives on Argentina’s economic transformation, explaining why global investors are reassessing the country’s risk profile. He addressed Argentina’s improved economic outlook, including lower inflation, its first budget surplus since 2006, renewed fiscal discipline, and a series of policy initiatives aimed at attracting long-term capital and deepening international business collaboration.
A key focus of the discussion was RIGI — Argentina’s Large Investment Incentive Regime — a landmark framework designed to provide long-term stability and incentives for major investment projects. Ricardo also analyzed the Super RIGI proposal, recently approved by Argentina’s Chamber of Deputies and now under consideration in the Senate, as well as Argentina’s proposed AI Companies Law, which aims to create a legal framework for automated corporate structures.
The session also explored the importance of the February 2026 U.S.–Argentina bilateral trade and investment agreement, and how it may help strengthen a new investment corridor between Argentina and the United States.
Ricardo framed Argentina as a country where several global priorities converge: food security, energy security, critical minerals, AI infrastructure, data centers, advanced manufacturing, and strategic supply chains. In that context, Argentina is no longer only a regional opportunity. It is becoming part of a larger global conversation about resilience, resources, technology, and trusted investment corridors.
The forum highlighted opportunities across several high-growth industries, including:
- Agriculture
- Mining and critical minerals
- Lithium and copper
- Energy and green energy
- Battery and electric vehicle supply chains
- Artificial Intelligence
- Data centers
- Healthcare
- Technology and fintech
Ricardo also noted growing international interest in Argentina, including high-profile signals and investment activity that point to increasing attention toward the country’s long-term potential.
Throughout the session, Ricardo emphasized that Argentina’s opportunity remains complex and must be approached with serious due diligence, sector-specific understanding, and careful execution. But he also made clear that the country is entering a different investment moment — one increasingly shaped by contractual frameworks, global strategic priorities, and new bridges between Argentina and the United States.
The discussion was expertly facilitated by James Huang, Managing Director of RESAAS Commercial, and Ellen Hsu, CEO of Prominent Real Estate Services and Promont Management. Together, they lead the Global Chamber® FDI Forum series, bringing together leaders in business, economic development, and commercial real estate to explore new global investment opportunities.
The Global Chamber® FDI Forum serves as a convergence point for business, economic development, and real estate professionals seeking to create meaningful international partnerships and accelerate cross-border investment.
Thank you to Ricardo Vanella for sharing valuable insights into Argentina’s investment landscape, and to James Huang and Ellen Hsu for their continued leadership of this important global series.
