Global Chamber® Balt/Wash Is Growing and Adding New Advisors

Global Chamber® BWI is pleased to announce the introduction of new Board of Advisors, Jack Shelton and Chris Bennett who are prominent lawyers in the Washington DC region. These two new advisory board members will leverage their collective skills and expertise in collaboration with the existing team of board members for the continued growth and development of our Global Chamber® BWI chapter.

John “Jack” Shelton is Partner at Aegis Trade Law, LLC. He serves as outside general counsel for domestic and international businesses. Jack’s practice places a particular emphasis on serving importers, exporters, and the space, defense, and maritime industries. Jack is admitted to practice law in the courts of D.C., Tennessee, Louisiana, and the U.S. Court of International Trade (currently on voluntary inactive status in Louisiana). He is also a licensed US Customs Broker. Jack received his J.D. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (cum laude) and his LL.M. in Admiralty Law from Tulane University (cum laude). He began his legal practice working in Germany, representing an ocean carrier, after which he moved to New Orleans to represent international businesses in the Gulf of Mexico. He has since lived and worked in Tennessee, D.C., New Mexico, and elsewhere.

Chris Bennett is an Attorney, Consultant & Entrepreneur at Technology-Innovation-Law, LLC. Chris has an MBA/JD/CPM with 30+ years of experience in general management – focused on executing the mission of his social impact startup (T-I-L®), which is to "democratize intellectual property rights for marginalized and underrepresented entrepreneurs, by making it easier and less costly to protect and to monetize their innovation". Chris's knowledge is deep in the areas of technology, innovation, and law, and is functionally broad (business analysis, finance, law and regulatory, product and services development, technology operations and strategy) in both the public and private sectors. He has a record of developing and implementing change within large and small organization(s), having created $0.5B (US) of aggregate financial value. Chris is skilled in building innovative, data and fact-driven solutions for sustainable business models.

Chris's academic and professional education include: Degree - JD (Georgetown), MBA (Penn/Wharton), BA (MSU/JCSU); Certification - Certified Public Manager & Six-Sigma (George Washington), Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies (Stanford), Executive Data Science (Johns Hopkins).
