We held a globinar on sustainable finance, investment and technologies to create socially impactful business practices.
Our Sustainable Success Globinar Series brings in experts to discuss sustainable development and ESG investment from a global perspective. This program was a result of coordination between leaders across Global Chamber® London, New York City and Dhaka.
Watch the program recorded HERE.
Background: Sustainable development also gives a structure and standard language for enterprises to include sustainability data into their reporting cycles, giving investors and shareholders greater information. The goals span all aspects of social development, environmental protection, and economic growth, with the most important being guaranteeing a healthy life, access to essential amenities such as clean water and sanitation, generational development through education, and reducing economic inequalities. Changes in global economic power, urbanization, climate change, resource scarcity, inequality, and technological innovations all necessitate a corporate response. As a result, several approaches to minimize the environmental repercussions have been undertaken.
In this globinar, the panel of experts put more emphasis on the reduction of cost of obtaining timely, proper utilization of ESG funds, material factors pertaining to sustainability impacts and investment funds, risks involved, reducing complexity, and assisting government institutions in tracking sustainable development regulatory aspects more successfully in this globinar.
Objectives:
- To draw attention to the challenges and opportunities inherent in the status quo for the private sector's investment in ESG funds.
- To examine how technological advancement enables the flow of financial instruments and related services necessary for the development and implementation of sustainable business models.
- To draw attention to emerging opportunities for better leveraging digital technologies for sustainable development financing.
- To place a premium on the application of digital technologies capable of lowering the cost of data on sustainability risks and investment returns.
- To emphasize the private sector's role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
